Young Toombs County JV Bulldogs open up with a 13-2 win at Vidalia

8th grader Chase Musselman singles in his first junior varsity at bat

The youngest Toombs County Bulldog junior varsity baseball team in years opened up their season with a 13-2 win at Vidalia. There were three sophomores, four freshman and three eighth graders in the 10 man batting order. The three middle schoolers went a combined 5-for-9 at the plate. Leadoff hitter Chadler Lynn and cleanup batter Chase Musselman both went 2-for-3 and number eight hitter Alex Gordy was 1-for-3.

On the mound sophomores Brock Harrison and Dalton Lynn combined on a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts. Both Indian runs were unearned. Harrison struck out seven batters and walked three. Last season, at Vidalia, he pitched the junior varsity to an 8-0 win and he threw three scoreless innings with four strikeouts, three walks and three hits. Lynn also struck out seven Indians and walked two and he yielded a run scoring singled with two down in the fourth.
