Swainsboro stops the Bulldogs four game win streak and the Lady Bulldogs also take a loss

For a second time, on a Friday night, the Toombs County Bulldogs had a four game winning streak stopped by a road Region 2 loss. In December the Metter Tigers beat the 4-0 Bulldogs with a second half comeback and on January 13 the Swainsboro Tigers pulled away in the second half. The second seeded Toombs County Bullldogs beat Armuchee 60-12 in the quarterfinals and Elbert County 39-27 in the semifinals to earn their first ever chance to win a state championship in the GHSA State Team Duals at the Macon Centreplex. The Toombs County Middle School basketball teams wrapped up their home regular season schedule with 8th Grade Appreciation Day. Four Bullpups, one Lady Bullpup and four cheerleaders were honored. The Toombs County Middle School wrestlers won their third straight Battle in the Swamp championship down in Ware County by winning four straight duals. The Bullpups defeated Waycross Middle School, Appling County, Jeff Davis and Brantley County. The Bullpups also went 4-0 against J.R. Trippe and Swainsboro in home action.
