TCHS seniors- Meadows, Mobley and Sims- lead Bulldogs to Region 2 win at Benedictine

With 3:48 to play in the game the Toombs County Bulldogs trailed Benedictine 45-43 on the road. From that point on the Dawgs outscored the Cadets 18-7 to win 61-52. All 18 points were scored by thee TCHS seniors. Jalen Mobley (15 points) scored on a baseline drive, hit his only 3-pointer of the game and nailed two free throws. L.J. Sims (8 points) scored an inside bucket and sank four straight free throws and D,R, Meadows (21 points) dropped in five of his six fourth quarter free throws.

Ironically the Bulldogs who entered the game making 60% of their free throws sank 20-of-26 against the Cadets which is 76.9% and they made 11-of-12 in the final period for a sizzling 91.7%.

Tyrese Lewis hit two 3-balls and scored 8 points, Austin Ellis made a 3-ball and scored 3, Alex Blount and Jaquail Boyd each scored 2 and Montrey Williams and Karis Harden had 1.

The Bulldogs are 11-5 overall and they even their Region 2 record at 3-3.

St. Vincent’s holds off the Lady Bulldogs

The Toombs County Lady Bulldogs, who fell behind by double-digit in the first quarter, kept making a push throughout their game at St. Vincent’s to make it a game. They trailed 19-11 after the first quarter, 31-20 at half and 38-29 after three quarters. However, they couldn’t overcome Sarah Stewart’s 26 points as St. Vincent’s won 52-37.

Christine Mobley elevates to get off her shot

Christine Mobley scored 13 points, Dominique Jones 12, Joann Gomez 6, Diamond Logan 4 and Shakevia Knight 2. The Lady Bulldogs are 6-9 overall and 2-4 in the region.
