
There was some very exciting basketball action at the Toombs County Middle School Gym with the Lady Bullpups rallying in the fourth quarter to beat ECI 37-30. In the second game the ECI Boys hit both ends of a one-and-one at the free throw line with just one second to play to beat the Bullpups 41-40.

The Lady Bullpups trailed 8-6 after the opening quarter, 16-15 at half and 26-24 after three quarters. Their problem was they weren’t hitting their shots. However, that stopped in the fourth quarter. Ziahya Griffin (6 points) banked in a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter to put TCMS up for good at 29-26. Point guard Kay Kay Mobley scored four of her 14 points in the fourth quarter. Amiya Bullard scored 10 points inside, Tonyra Cephus sank a 3-ball and tallied 5 and Trinity Robinson added 2.

Maleke Day scored 20 points to lead the Bullups and Brannon Usher also scored in double-digits with 10. Both scored four points in the fourth quarter. Day nailed a couple of free throws with six seconds remaining in the game to give Toombs a 40-39 lead.
