Lane was invited to play in the All Star Showcase in Cartersville, however, Lane has shut down his baseball career for awhile. In his senior year Lane decided to play high school football for the first time and he is the Bulldogs punter and has earned playing time at wide receiver. Lane dropped a coffin corner punt out of bounds at the Hephibah 3-yard line in a scrimmage game in Booster Stadium and he has also booted two long punts in the first two games of the regular season.
