Buddy Martin was a head football coach at Hardee High (Wauchula, Florida) at the age of 25 and now at the age of 32 he is the defensive coordinator at Toombs County High School. Coach Martin made a challenging life decision by stepping down as the head coach of the Wildcats to join Bulldog head coach Richie Marsh’s staff in Lyons.

Martin played for coach Marsh at Bartow High school and says he is one of the three most important men in his life along with his father and grandfather. After high school Martin moved on to the next level and was a center at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. After his college playing days ended he went to Shorter (Rome, Georgia) where he was a graduate assistant working on his Masters Degree while coaching the offensive lineman. That is where he made his first Toombs County Bulldog connection. Former Dawg Logan Lollis was the Hawks’ starting linebacker.

Next Martin decided to take a high school assistant coaching position at Hardee High and two years later, in 2010 he became the Wildcats head coach.
