Curtis pitches SE Georgia to an All Star victory

Nick Curtis played in the Georgia Dugout Club’s Senior All State Games at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrencville. Nick was on the Southeast Georgia Team and he was the winning pitcher in his team’s only victory of the weekend. SE GA went 1-2. Lyons Mite Girls run-rule Long County and lose to Jeff Davis, Lyons Midget Boys eliminated by Vidalia

The Lyons Mite Girls came out swinging the sticks and playing good defense in a 16-6 second round victory over Long County in the Lyons Youth Tournament. Lyons scored five runs in the first inning, eight in the second and three in the third and the girls held Long scoreless in the second and fourth innings. The Mite Girls (9 and 10 years old) and the Midget Boys (11-12) Divisions in the Lyons Youth Tournament opened on Friday with the Lyons Mites pulling out a 9-6 win over Glennville while the Lyons Midgets lost to Long County 13-2. The Lyons Junior Boys opened up the 54th Lyons Youth Tournament with an 11-2 win over Long County. Alex Gordy pitched all five innings yielding five hits and no earned runs with seven strikeouts and only two walks. He also picked off two base runners at second.
