On February 15th the Toombs County Bulldogs opened up their season losing at home to Claxton 17-5 in five innings. Two weeks to the day later the Dawgs, after wins over Jenkins and Islands, stroked 14 hits in a 13-0 five-inning win at Vidalia. The Harrison brothers lead the JV Bulldogs past Vidalia 8-0

Bryce Harrison and Brock Harrison had never played baseball on the same school team until this season. Both dress for both the varsity and junior varsity Toombs County Bulldog teams. In 2015, in Lyons, Tyler Luke pitched eight innings of no-hit ball against Islands High School only to lose a one-hitter in nine 3-2. Toombs County junior D.R. Meadows pitched six innings of no-hit ball to help lead the Bulldogs to a 3-2 home win over Jenkins in a Region 1 AAA crossover game. Seven Toombs County basketball players were honored by Region 1 3A for the 2015-16 season. D.R. Meadows, who averaged 13.2 points per game while scoring a career-high 27 against Montgomery County and 26 against both Pierce County and Southeast Bulloch, was named to the first team on the¬†Sub-Region 1AAA-A team. Former Toombs County Lady Bulldog basketball player Breanna Walker played her third game of her freshman season at Brewton-Parker’s Gillis Gymnasium and she scored a career-high nine points in Coastal Georgia’s 73-41 win over the Lady Barons.
