One goal decides TCMS vs. Bleckley County semifinal match

In a game featuring many skilled soccer players on both teams, one goal decided this MGMSAA Tournament Semifinal Game at the Toombs County Middle School Soccer Field. Bleckley County Middle School’s Jayda Danner took possession of the ball, maneuvered around a defender, dribbled into the box and fired a hard shot into the left corner of the net with 9:27 to play in the game giving the Lady Barons a 1-0 victory over the Toombs County Lady Bullpups.

The Lady Bullpups had several scoring opportunities in the first half, but they couldn’t slip a shot past the Lady Baron’s goal keeper.

In the other semifinal game J.R. Trippe shutout West Laurens 3-0. Undefeated (7-0) Bleckley and Trippe will play for the championship on Friday at 4 p.m. at the Toombs County Middle School Soccer Field. In a regular season game, in Cochran, Bleckley edged the Lady Chiefs 2-1 and Danner scored a goal in that game.

The Toombs County Bullpups will play J.R. Trippe on Thursday at 4 and if they win they will play for the league championship on Friday at 5:15.
