Strong 2nd half sends TCMS past J.R. Trippe

The regular season ended for the Toombs County Middle School Bullpup soccer team with a pair of wins including a 4-1 victory at J.R. Trippe. Julian Marin scored three goals and Michael Pablocastanon scored one goal. The Chiefs tied the game with five seconds remaining in the opening half and then Pablocastanon scored the go-ahead goal halfway through the second half. Watch a slideshow

On Tuesday TCMS defeated East Laurens 6-1 on the road. Marin and Chema Valderas each scored two goals and Omar Aquilar and Chabe O’Conner each had one.

The Bullpups end the regular season with a 5-1 record. They finish second in the MGMSAA behind 6-0 West Laurens. West Laurens beat TCMS on penalty kicks. So, the Bullpups will be the number two seed in the tourney which will be held at the Toombs County Soccer Field. The girls will play their semifinal games on Wednesday afternoon begining at 4 p.m., the boys play Thursday and the championship games will be on Friday.

J.R. Trippe’s Mahogany Johnson scored two early goals- four and eight minutes in to the game- as the Lady Chiefs shutout Toombs County 2-0.

The Lady Bullpups beat East Laurens 4-0. Myriam Tinoco scored two goals and Ashtyn Braddy and Isabell Mares each kicked in one.
