As a Toombs County Bulldog Jamar Smith usually led the team in rushing. These days at Holmes Community College, in Mississippi, Smith is leading those Bulldogs in tackles through four games. Jamar, who wears number nine and plays linebacker, leads Holmes with 28 total tackles- 17 solo tackles and 11 assist. He has one sack for minus seven yards. Watch a slideshow
Jamar opened up his collegiate career by leaidng Holmes with nine tackles in 32-28 loss at Hinds. Smith had five solo tackles and four assists and two of his tackles were behind the line of scrimmage. Holmes trailed 25-13 after three quarters and rallied scoring two fourth quarter touchdowns.
In a 34-14 home win over Pearl River, Jamar once again led Holmes with seven tackles. He had five solo’s and two assists and his first collegiate sack for a loss of seven yards.
There weren’t many highlights for Holmes in a 40-14 loss to Itawamba. However, for the third straight game Smith led his Bulldogs with nine tackles- five primary stops and four assists.
Smith had three total tackles including two solo stops in a 29-14 loss to East Central.
