In the final three quarters at Vidalia, the Toombs County Bulldogs scored two touchdowns and kicked two field goals. In four quarters. in their Pit against Beach, the Bulldogs scored one TD in an 18-7 Region 1 AAA crossover game. Watch Bryce Braddy’s Slideshow

Beach opened up the Thursday Night Blitz broadcast on WSAV-TV with a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by junior Tyjuan Jennkins. Beach scored a second first half touchdown on a 12-yard pass from Rashemel Cooper to Andrew Oliver. The nine play, 45-yard drive was set up by a Bulldog fumble.

The Bulldogs finally put together an eight play, 43-yard drive and scored on a two-yard run by Jordan Usher with :50 seconds to play in the first half. A 20-yard pass from Dalton McBride to  Ryan Coursey  placed the ball at the Beach one-yard line. Rig Tinoco nailed the extra point to cut the Beach lead to 12-7.

Tinoco pulled off a successful onside kick which was recovered by Alex Ashley at the Beach 45. The Bulldogs had a touchdown called back on what would have been a 35-yard TD pass from Dalton McBride to Nathan Belch. Belch caught a short pass, at the Beach 33, and raced diagonally across the field and into the north end zone. However, a block in the back brought it back. On fourth down Tinoco missed on a 48-yard field goal attempt.

Nobody scored in the first 22 minutes of the second half until Beach finished the game with a 31-yard touchdown run with 2:10 to play. The game’s final score was set up by an interception on a vertical pass at the Dawg 46.

Unofficially, Usher led the Bulldogs in rushing with 43 yards on 10 carries. Bronza Jones had 38 yards on eight carries, Landon Cowart rushed the ball eight times for 20 yards and Tyrese Kent had three rushes for 23 yards. Toombs rushed the ball 35 times for 139 yards (4.0 yards per carry). The Bulldogs competed six passes for 36 yards.
