On Thursday TCHS played host to Savannah Arts, the top team in the region, and the Lady Panthers won 25-7 and 25-8.

There was a new player on the court wearing number 10. Katelyn Atchison, who transferred from Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, led the Net Dawgs in kills at the net. Katelyn has been playing volleyball since she was 12 years old. Although she was born in South Carolina, she started playing the sport in Ohio on a club team for 13-year olds.  Atchison has also lived in North Carolina and Florida.

Last season at Northridge High School Katelyn was mentioned in the Tuscaloosa News as she led her team to a 3-0 win over Bessemer City. “Leading the win for Northridge was Katelyn Atchison with eight kills, one block and two aces.” Atchison also participated in track and field and was a jumper with personal records of 4-10 in the high jump, 15-4 in the long jump and 33 feet in the triple jump.
